Setouchi Triennale Official Tour Megijima Island Trip
“ISLAND THEATRE MEGI: Megijima Cinema” by Yoichiro Yoda (Created in 2016) is a popular attraction where a warehouse on the island has been transformed into an art-house cinema.
"Guided by General Director Fram Kitagawa, guests are invited into the cinematic world of films related to the Setouchi region and the Art Triennale.
This time, the featured screening is “Seaside Serendipity,” a film adaptation of the popular manga series by Gin Miyoshi, shot on Shodoshima."
The film was honored with a Special Mention in the Generation Kplus section at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Attendees will get a special sneak preview ahead of its nationwide release on August 29.
In addition, director and screenwriter Satoko Yokohama will make a special guest appearance.
Following the screening, there will be an exclusive talk session with Director Yokohama and Festival Director Kitagawa, offering unique insights into the film’s production and behind-the-scenes stories that can only be heard at this event.
