    Ohenro Spirituality Hike

    Tour Details

A special tour created entirely to present the lovely Shikoku and the unique 88-Temple Pilgrimage in all of it's majesty and grace. Recently affectionately dubbed the "Zen Hike", by the cool magazine Papersky.

A seasoned local guide will help you on your journey through the beautiful landscapes, from the austere and distinguished temples, through to the rolling hills and vast plains, past gushing rivers, up through the near holy and sacred mountains.
With intimate relationships with the local shops and individuals, we aim to bring you to the most remote and delicious locations, prepared with only the freshest, tastiest hand-grown ingredients, along this fantastic pilgrimage, for an experience that you simply can't get anywhere else.
The quintessential tour to experience Shikoku.

The Shikoku 88-Temple Pilgrimage (Ohenro in Japanese), acts as roughly 1,200km thread stitching together all four prefectures of Shikoku into a rich mandala of culture, history, and tradition.

Said to be founded by Kūkai, the semi-legendary founder of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism as well as one of the most pivotal and important figures in the development of Japanese religious tradition, culture, art, and literature, the Ohnero trail has a rich an storied history stretching back as far into the misty annals of ancient Japan but continues on to this very day.

From the mountains and valleys of Tokushima, to the rugged Pacific Coast and sprawling rice-fields of Kōchi, to the remote stretches of trail in Ehime, and even to the azure Seto Inland Sea scenery of Kagawa Prefecture, to step foot onto the Ohenro trail is to walk through culture and traditions of Shikoku; experiencing them first-hand and perfectly exactly the way they unfold on this place we call Shikoku.
