Setouchi Triennale Official Tour Yashima Island Trip

    Tour Details

A special tour that takes you to the scenic summit of Yashima in Setonaikai National Park, where you'll explore the whimsical "Art Zoo" and the historically rich open-air museum Shikoku Mura Musée, culminating in a captivating nighttime dance performance by the world-renowned Cloud Gate Dance Theatre.
At Yashimāru, which offers panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea, nine artists present unique three-dimensional works inspired by animals. In Shikoku Mura, where 33 historical buildings relocated and restored from across Shikoku are scattered throughout the village, a special exhibition curated for the Setouchi Triennale is held at a gallery designed by Tadao Ando.
The highlight of the journey is a mesmerizing outdoor performance of Cloud Gate’s acclaimed piece Sounding Light, staged on a traditional rural kabuki theater.
The dancers blend their movements and sounds with the natural ambience of the venue, revealing the deeper essence of the human and natural worlds.
Before the performance, enjoy a relaxing light meal at Shikoku Mura Café, housed in a relocated Western-style residence originally from Kobe.
