Setouchi Triennale Official Tour Shodoshima Island Trip

    Tour Details

A special bus tour that follows art installations as landmarks while exploring the breathtaking seascapes and small villages scenery of the Seto Inland Sea.
At Kusakabe Port, you will have the chance to view up close an outdoor artwork where a traditional wooden boat, once used as an ebune (houseboat), has been reborn through intricate carvings.
Next, on the Mito Peninsula—where sweeping panoramas of both sea and mountains unfold—you can enjoy multiple works of art at once, including a monumental goddess statue created from furniture materials and tools.
In the Hitoyama and Nakayama areas, the tour concludes with a stroll through nostalgic villages landscapes, where you will encounter a grand installation harmonizing with nature, crafted from thousands of bamboo stalks.
For lunch, we will dine at the popular Shōdoshima restaurant Creative Local Cuisine Koyomi, where dishes abundantly showcase the island’s ingredients—offering a taste of its way of life and culture through food.
