This one-day charter boat and bus tour departs every Monday and travels to the Utazu area, hosting the art festival for the first time, and Takamijima Island, home to a new project by BankART1929.
Overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, in Utazu's waterfront area, you can get up close and personal with outdoor artwork made from acrylic panels, the same kind used in aquarium tanks. You'll also stroll through the charming Komachi area, lined with historic townhouses and shrines and temples, including the impressive ""Kuranoyakata Sankakutei"" (Storehouse House) with its stained-glass triangular tower. You'll encounter artworks that evoke the island's history as a prosperous salt-producing region.
Next, on Takamijima Island, where houses are built in tiers on steep slopes and natural stone walls remain, BankART1929 will be developing the ""Takamijima Art Trail."" Indoor and outdoor artworks by eight artists will be scattered throughout the village, enveloping the entire island in art. New developments in ongoing artworks await, offering new discoveries. For lunch, we will be serving a special set meal featuring Utazu's local dish, pressed sushi, served with care by the locals.
